(Being the Zelda geeks that we are, we’re gonna have SO MUCH fun stateside walking around the Disney parks with these babies!)
As I’m taking my Majora’s Mask backpack, she really wanted to take one too and commissioned me to make one, so I chose her favourite shield version from Wind Waker: Link’s Mirror Shield.
Although the shape was quite tricky, it did come out ok in the end.
The bird and Triforce motifs are embroidered on my machine, but guided through by hand. Every little turn and angle is judged by eye, as I do not have a programmable machine. As you may be able to tell, circles are extremely tricky for me to do, but other overall effect looks good.
Materials used:
-Faux duck cloth in royal blue
-Royal blue zip and webbing
-White waterproof fabric
-Silver, grey and gold threads for embroidery
-Forming felt for support
-Polyester stuffing for the sides
-Bias binding inside, hot-glued into place
I can hazard a guess you’ll be seeing Ubermidget carrying this around at the Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses in London in a few weeks. You’ll probably see my other handiwork there, my Majora’s Mask backpack and Skyward Sword Heart container backpack.
If you see me there, please say hi! (I’ll be carrying my HUGE Ganondorf plush, so I’ll be hard to miss!)
